World We Imagine

World We Imagine Without a doubt, this quote is something that comes with so much behind it. If you are someone who has not been super exposed to the world around you it is hard to believe that much of the world is not similar to the freedoms we enjoy here in America. It is very hard to wrap your head around the idea that other parts of the world can be so different and completed disrespect basic human rights that all people should have. In the quote it references the entire world and how we as humanity need to work towards a planet where everyone is created equal. Part of the question here is where do we even begin with how to work towards this goal. The first thing that comes to mind is educated people on freedom and what that looks like. If everyone was educated then there would be a goal at hand for everyone to fight for. In those places where basic human rights are not acknowledged, there will be people who can speak and fight for those. Additionally, education at schools is anoth...

Random Blog Post 2

Random Blog Post 2 At first, I was struggling with a topic to write for my random blog post so going through my camera roll would be a great way to remind me of the endeavors I have been on recently. After looking through, I saw a picture of a sunrise I had taken in Florida. The reason I had been in Florida was that one of my mom's projects at Aerojet Rocketdyne was to build the engines that would be propelling Artemis, NASA's new rocket into space. Back in September, they were trying to have the rocket launch into space for the first time so they could start sending people up on these rockets. However, our trip did not go as planned. The thing about rocket science is that it is very precise and there are many safety regulations that come into play. There are very few windows these rockets have to launch and at any sign of trouble they can call a scrub. Our original launch time was scheduled for 8:15am. The annoying thing about that is how we had to be at the launch site by 4...

Book 2 Post 2

The Wayfinders This book was a very enjoyable read. I have always had an adventurous side to myself and this book did a great job of reaching that part of me. Additionally, the book was structured in a way that allowed for several stories to be told and did not make it confusing. This book allowed for separate but similar stories to be told in a manner that aligned with the theme but gave a completely different perspective. Now I will talk about two of the stories that really made me like the book. The first story I really enjoyed was about the “Peoples of the Anaconda”. This story takes place in the Amazon rain forest and deals with different tribes that have lived in seclusion there due to the strict regulations to preserve the rain forest. We get to experience firsthand what he is seeing and how he is interacting with these tribes. What is really cool is that we get to hear about the different ways they do similar tasks to us, especially how they use the land around them. Seei...

Investment Proposal Rough Draft

From: Blake Zingerman, Research and Development To: Clark Hansen, CEO Subject: Allbirds: Investment Assessment  Date: October 17, 2022 As requested, I have researched the next best company to add to the AMDP investment portfolio. Allbirds is a company that is proficient in its social responsibility, environmental awareness, and financial growth. At Anima Mundi Development Partners, we evaluate our potential investments based on the AMDP Standards. AMDP Standards Triple Bottom Line The triple bottom line is a business concept that posits firms should commit to measuring their social and environmental impact—in addition to their financial performance—rather than solely focusing on generating profit, or the standard “bottom line.” It can be broken down into profit, people, and the planet (Miller).  Profit: a measure of income that the company makes for their shareholders People: measure of the value a company makes for its stakeholders not just shareholders Planet: measure...

Book 2 Post 1

The Wayfinders: Why Ancient Wisdom Matters in the Modern World For our second book in this class the book I decided to read is The Wayfinders: Why Ancient Wisdom Matters in the Modern World. The reason behind this decision was how I have always thought it was important for people to refer and understand the past. There is so much left in the past that could help us in the future. An example I will always refer to is how much I wish we knew how the Great Pyramids of Giza were built. Learning about the different groups that were going to mentioned in this book, I thought it would be a wonderful book to read. Another aspect of the book that I liked is that it deals with many different groups so we will get a great variety and exposure to different cultures.  So far in this book I read about how Davis is concerned with the disappearance of many cultures. One element he spends a lot of time on is language and how so many languages are going to be lost in the next few decades. The ...

Random Post

Random Blog Post For a random blog post, I knew exactly the topic to talk about. That would be snowboarding. Snowboarding is a passion of mine that I conveniently picked up in high school because I felt that I was missing out on the adventure that came with it. When I was little I skied a few times, but never really loved it because I felt that there was little interaction with snow. I know that might sound weird but I knew I would be having more fun if I was falling in the snow more often. The perfect solution was to begin snowboarding because, trust me, you end up in the snow quite frequently. So the thing is, my family all skiis so I had no people to teach me how to snowboard. Therefore, I took the liberty of teaching myself. I thought that since I was a surfer and a skateboarder it could not be too hard. Luckily, it turns out I was right and was able to pick it up pretty quickly. This day ignited my passion.   Some may ask why this sport is such a...
