As requested, I have researched the next best company to add to the AMDP investment portfolio. Allbirds is a company that is proficient in its social responsibility, environmental awareness, and financial growth. At Anima Mundi Development Partners, we evaluate our potential investments based on the AMDP Standards.
AMDP Standards
Triple Bottom Line
The triple bottom line is a business concept that posits firms should commit to measuring their social and environmental impact—in addition to their financial performance—rather than solely focusing on generating profit, or the standard “bottom line.” It can be broken down into profit, people, and the planet (Miller).
Profit: a measure of income that the company makes for their shareholders
People: measure of the value a company makes for its stakeholders not just shareholders
Planet: measure the environmental impact and the role that these companies play in making sure they take care of the planet
Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a self-regulating business model that helps a company be socially accountable to itself, its stakeholders, and the public. By practicing corporate social responsibility, also called corporate citizenship, companies can be conscious of the kind of impact they are having on all aspects of society, including economic, social, and environmental (Fernando).
Social Enterprise
A social enterprise or social business is defined as a business with specific social objectives that serve its primary purpose. Social enterprises seek to maximize profits while maximizing benefits to society and the environment, and the profits are principally used to fund social programs (Barone).
Carbon Footprint
With everything that has been changing in world, creating a business that reduces carbon footprint is essentially for the fate of its future. Carbon footprint, amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions associated with all the activities of a person or other entity (e.g., building, corporation, country, etc.). It includes direct emissions, such as those that result from fossil-fuel combustion in manufacturing, heating, and transportation, as well as emissions required to produce the electricity associated with goods and services consumed. In addition, the carbon footprint concept also often includes the emissions of other greenhouse gases, such as methane, nitrous oxide, or chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) (Selin).
